District Receives Accreditation

Saluda County School District 1 was once again accredited through AdvanED for meeting the criteria for educational quality established by the NCA Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the SACS Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement.  Dr. Arlene Puryear, Board Chairperson, and Dr. David Mathis, Superintendent, presented a certificate of Accreditation to each school’s Principal at the May Board meeting.

OUTSTANDING STUDENTS HONORED AT PIEDMONT TECHNICAL COLLEGE GRADUATION  - At Piedmont Technical College’s recent spring commencement exercises, outstanding students from each of the college’s seven supporting counties were honored for academic achievement. Two Saluda County students were honored for maintaining high academic success. Andrew Owens, right, was recognized by PTC area commission member Thelma Woody during the afternoon ceremony. Owens is an Associate in Arts and Associate in Science graduate.


OUTSTANDING STUDENTS HONORED AT PIEDMONT TECHNICAL COLLEGE GRADUATION - At Piedmont Technical College’s recent spring commencement exercises, outstanding students from each of the college’s seven supporting counties were honored for academic achievement. Two Saluda County students were honored for maintaining high academic success. William Shealy, left, was recognized by PTC area commission member Rufus Sherard during the evening ceremony. Shealy is a machine tool technology graduate.
