Historical Society Deer Hunt
And Duck Hunt Dates Announced

  Saluda County Historical Society members will hold a half-day or whole-day deer hunt on November 10, 2018 and a duck hunt on January 19, 2019.  The hunts will be hosted by the Windy Hill Rod and Gun Club, historical society members, and the Randy Barnes family on over one thousand acres of land on Padgett Pond and Clouds Creek in Saluda County.
   Proceeds from the hunts will be used to fund the preservation and upkeep of the historic Bonham House, Marsh-Johnson House, and Saluda Theater interior.

  The duck hunt last year was most successful with a large number of various varieties of ducks harvested.  From deer sightings, there seems to be a large number available this year.  Trophy hunting only is allowed on both properties.
  Members of the Saluda County Historical Society will provide a mega-breakfast after the morning hunts


2018-19 Saluda School District Registration


  Registration for the 2018-19 school-year will be held at each school on Aug. 2, from 8 am-7 pm.
  Teacher Workdays – Aug. 13-17
  First Day of School for Students – August 20
  The following documents will be required at each school in order to register the student:
  * Two proofs of Saluda County residency with the parents’ or guardians’ name and street address (not PO Box).  Acceptable documen-tation includes:  property tax bill, property insurance bill, mortgage statement, rental lease agreement, vehicle tax registration, voter registration card, W-2, electric bill, water bill, telephone bill, cable/satellite/internet bill, payroll stub, or bank statement.
  * Immunization record – Students enrolling for the first time with Saluda County Schools should bring current immunization record.  All 7th grade students will need to show proof of receiving the TDAP unless this is already on file in the school office.
  * Birth certificate (for new students only)
  * Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to register.

  Las inscripciónes para el año escolar 2018-19 se llevará a cabo en cada escuela el 2 de agosto, de 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  Días de trabajo de los maestros: 13-17 de agosto
  Primer día de clases para los estudiantes: 20 de agosto
  Se requerirán los siguientes documentos en cada escuela para registrar al estudiante:
  *Dos pruebas de la residencia del condado de Saluda con el nombre y la dirección de los padres o tutores (no en el apartado postal). La documentación aceptable incluye: factura de impuestos a la propiedad, factura de seguro de propiedad, declaración de hipoteca, contrato de arrendamiento de alquiler, registro de impuesto de vehículo, tarjeta de registro de votante, W-2, factura de electricidad, recibo de agua, factura de teléfono, factura de cable / satélite / internet, talón de cheque o estado de cuenta bancario.
  *Registro de vacuna: los estudiantes que se inscriban por primera vez en las Escuelas del Condado de Saluda deben traer el registro de vacuna actual. Todos los estudiantes de 7mo grado necesitarán mostrar un comprobante de haber recibido el TDAP, a menos que ya esté archivado en la oficina de la escuela.
  *Certificado de nacimiento (solo para estudiantes nuevos)
  *Los estudiantes deben estar acompañados por un padre o tutor para registrarse.
