National Shooting Sports Competition

2016 National 4-H Shooting

Sports Competition

On June 26-July 1, 2016, TJ Price from Saluda, Spencer Moore from Edgeheld, Jessica Knox and K. D. Young from Belton, S.C. attended the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships held in Grand Island, Nebraska.

They were chosen to represent S. C. and participated in three of the nine divisions including skeet, trap, and sporting clays. Thirty-eight states brought 679 4-Her’s.

The S. C. team ranked 9 th in the nation in sporting clays, 12th in the nation in skeet and T. J. ranked l5th overall individually as a shooter.

Rick Willey from Clemson’s Shooting Sports Team chose these youth and coached them. They represented S. C. very well and enjoyed touring the Hornady Ammunition Plant, some attended the College World Series, and especially socializing with other 4-Her’s throughout the nation.

We have an excellent 4-H program in Saluda, S. C. and encourage others to join.

Charleston Attorney named

Secretary/Treasurer for

State’s Top Legal Group

(HILTON HEAD, SC) Charleston Attorney James L. Ward, Jr. has been selected as Secretary/Treasurer for the South Carolina Association of Justice (SCAJ), the State’s leading advocacy group for fairness in our legal system.

Ward is a member of Richardson, Patrick, Westbrook& Brickman, LLC and serves as the firm’s managing attorney. SCAJ has over 1300 members state-wide and has been in operation for over 50 years. "My commitment to the legal profession started at a very young age. Serving as an officer in SCAJ is a great honor as I seek to continue my life’s work of helping victims find fairness and justice under the law," Ward said.

A native of Saluda, South Carolina, Ward’s interest in law began as a child. His parents owned a store across from the town’s courthouse. He spent his formative years observing legal proceedings and speaking to the attorneys and staff who worked there. When he started school, there was little question he would one day end up practicing law. Ward graduated with honors from The Citadel and the University of South Carolina School of Law. Ward is a member of his firm’s consumer class action team, representing individuals, businesses and governmental clients who have been harmed by deceptive and illegal business practices. He also handles a variety of catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. This past weekend at its annual convention at Hilton Head, SCAJ also named Alexander Cash as the group’s new President, Hugh McAngus as President-Elect and Thiele McVey as Vice-President.

The South Carolina Association for Justice was founded in 1957 to serve as advocates for those who are harmed by the actions of others and to strengthen the justice system through education and action. With membership from all across South Carolina, SCAJ is a strong and growing organization fighting for fairness under the law. Visit for more information on the Association.
